  • 2 lbs cubes of meat (beef or lamb)
  • 2 tablespoons berbere spice
  • 1/4 cup red wine (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (for Awaze)
  • 2 tablespoons cooking oil (your choice)
  • 1 red onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons niter kibbeh (Ethiopian clarified butter)
  • 2 sprigs of rosemary
  • Salt to taste
  • Injera bread for serving
  • 2 tablespoons berbere spice
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons water
