  • 5 lb onions
  • 2 1/2 cups cooking oil (use your preferred cooking oil)
  • 1/2 cup mixed ginger and garlic, 
  • 3 cups berbere (Ethiopian spice blend)
  • 3 whole chickens
  • 6 eggs, boiled
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 1 tbsp mekelesha kimem
  • 1/2 tbsp black kimem
  • 4 lemons
